Gosh, did I fall asleep and just wake up? Hopefully, I can be alittle better at this than I was last year. Haley is doing fine. All healed up, busy, coaching and playing soccer, working. My son is engaged and is getting married the end of May so my intention is to get more fit and lose some weight so I can get into something nice. Now that I’ve said it to the universe I guess I have to actually do something about it. I have started watching what I eat and I just got a treadmill. We got the thing all set up and have the tv sitting in front of it so now I have no excuse.
I’ve been busy with work. We’ve been busy through the first of the year with inventory and customers (knock on wood). New inventory has been piling up and I’m finally getting a chance to get it out on the floor. My manager has moved onto her own business venture, A Good Yarn, a nice yarn shop in Port Orchard which is just down the road from Gig Harbor. I wish her the best and she is enjoying what she is doing. I’ve got a couple of ideas for the new year. There are a few kinks to work out but plan to get them implemented soon. We started an in house Block of the Month. It’s a new block each month with a new subject and technique. Participants make the blocks, turn them in at the store and put their names in for a drawing. At the end of the month, we have a drawing to see who will take home the blocks that were made and turned in. We embroidered snowmen on 8 1/2″ blocks for January and for February we are piecing hearts. Already we are a month into the new year and I’m working on not being overwhelmed with all there is to do. I’m trying to keep my calendar up to date and keeping my ideas and lists together so I can keep ahead of the game.
I can’t say that I have been doing much of anything of note this past year. Just busy with work. DH and I have gotten into birding and photography somewhat and we’ve been having fun. We’ve been feeding the birds all winter and have had a great time watching their antics. We have a pair of Anna’s Hummingbirds wintering over and we make sure that the necture is thawed so they can eat every morning. They are interesting to watch and when the light hits the male, he is so pretty. We went to Tucson for a couple of weeks last year and saw all kinds of birds. We would like to go again this year.
It’s getting to be pumpkin time. The dog is wondering why I’m still up, so I better go.
